Why Zomato, Swiggy and Amazon orders need a paper food seal
02 Oct 2026
Zomato, Swiggy and Amazon moved the meal from the counter to the door. They also moved the doubt. A guest can see the rider on a map and still not know if the lid was lifted in the lobby, in the lift, or between two stops. The app proves the journey. It does not prove the pack. That is the gap a food seal is meant to close.
JEHHA Food Seal is a paper tape, not a plastic film. It is a customisable, tamper-evident seal with zero plastic. Placed across a cup, a carton or a carry bag, it gives one public signal. Intact paper means the opening was not crossed. Torn paper means the pack should be checked before it is eaten. Platforms live on repeat orders. A guest who trusts the pack orders again. A guest who wonders once often does not.
On Zomato and Swiggy the handoff is short and crowded. One rider may carry several kitchens. A bag sits in a holder, then on a bike, then at a door. The restaurant did the hygiene. The app did the dispatch. Neither is standing there when the guest opens the lid. A paper seal travels with the order and speaks for both. It does not accuse the rider. It shows the standard the kitchen already set.
Amazon’s last mile is wider, but the doubt is the same wherever food or a sealed grocery pack changes hands. A carton can leave a seller closed and arrive looking ordinary. Ordinary is not proof. A paper strip across the flap is proof a guest can see without opening a help chat. For a marketplace, fewer “arrived open” complaints are not a small saving. Each one is a refund, a rating and a reason not to buy the same kitchen again.
Paper is the right material for this job. A plastic film can sometimes lift and sit back down. Paper fibres break. The tear is the message. Paper also takes the print these brands already care about: a restaurant name, a photograph, a QR code. The QR can point to the order page, a feedback form or a reorder link. The name stops one white bag looking like every other white bag in the same delivery bag. Custom print is how a cloud kitchen stays visible inside someone else’s app.
The seal also matches the pack these platforms already push. Cups, cartons and paper bags do not need another plastic layer to look safe. A zero-plastic paper tape adds the proof without adding a film the guest must peel off and bin. Staff learn one step. Place it across the opening, press it, do not reuse a broken strip. Training is short because the rule is visible.
None of this replaces the rider, the rating or the refund policy. It gives those systems something they do not have: a mark on the pack itself. Zomato can show the route. Swiggy can show the partner. Amazon can show the delivery window. Only the seal can show that the contents left the kitchen untouched.
JEHHA is a brand of Wonder Polymers Private Limited, with manufacturing roots since 1986. Food Seal is built for restaurants, cloud kitchens and delivery brands that sell through these apps and beyond them. The paper tape is the last line of the order, written where the guest can read it.
